Back to School with Heads Held High
The latest statistics from the Quebec Ministry of Education indicate an alarming rise in the school dropout rate for youths aged 16 to 20, which now stands at 38%!
Aware that this reality is often linked to poverty, Welcome Hall Mission organizes a Back to School event during which is distributed school supplies to more than 2,000 children whose parents cannot afford to buy the required school supplies.
The 2008 distribution was a great success. Representatives from the corporate world, the municipality, community groups and the media were present to witness the excitement of hundreds of youngsters receiving their school supplies. A huge thank you to our partners who are helping us reach more children each year.
